Tutoring

As a fully licensed educator who has taught at all levels (from elementary to university) I continue to help students reach their goals and achieve success.

Working 1-on-1 or in groups up to 4, I stress critical-thinking while imbuing my students with a love of the very subject they most probably hate.  My main teaching areas include (but are not limited to):

  • English (including ESL)

  • History

  • Economics

  • Religion

  • Psychology / Sociology

Since my aim is to help students achieve demonstrable results as efficiently as possible, after a personalized assessment during our first session, the student and I will:

  • Establish clear objectives based on specific needs

  • Create a structured achievable plan

  • Make sure it meets the parent / guardian’s approval

  • Work efficiently to accomplishing those goals

My methods work!

Testimonials

Velvet and John Haney

“Paul connected with David on his level, creating a very comfortable and supportive environment to improve his marks and appreciation of a number of high school subjects.

Any family looking for a thoughtful, dependable tutor with a great sense of humour could do no better than Paul Dias.”

“My son Chase was initially reluctant to have weekly tutoring sessions, as reading and writing had never been his favourite subjects. However, Paul’s patience, encouragement, and thoughtful guidance made a significant impact.

Over time, Paul helped Chase find his voice by teaching him how to articulate his ideas clearly and express them in a more organized and persuasive manner. Paul was able to meet Chase where he was and build his confidence step by step.

As Chase began to see his own progress, he became more motivated and took pride in his growing ability to communicate effectively. Paul played a key role in transforming Chase’s attitude toward English, and we’re truly grateful for the positive change he’s made in Chase.”

I used Paul’s tutoring services for my son to help him further expand his English language skills. Much to my delight, my son began reading for pleasure, expressing himself in the written form and had a poem published in the school magazine. This exceeded the original expectation of improving his grade a bit. Wow, what a transformation.
